Our activities span both business-to-business and consumer markets, specialising in a number of industry sectors including financial services, automotive, energy, travel, FMCG, technology and entertainment. We blend focused sector expertise with award winning research designs and approaches, with particular strengths in loyalty and brand research. Our engagements range from strategic or tactical one-off projects to ongoing tracking studies.

Purpose of the role:
The primary focus of this role is to initiate and develop relationships with target companies, covering both B2B and Consumer clients. (Specifically, Automotive, Consumer Durables, Travel Transport, Tourism, Retail, Food and Drink, Energy & Charities). Whilst this is likely to be achieved primarily through telephone activity, you will work with the Sector Heads & Account Directors in creating new and innovative ways to establish contacts with prospects in a way that highlights the value add for the firm across the UK and broader European markets. This role would suit someone who enjoys working within a dynamic research environment, selling a broad range of methodologies in a vibrant young team.

Responsibilities:

  • Support opportunities which meet Company business strategy
  • Support efforts to bring new clients to the Company
  • Contribute to sales meetings
  • Meet personal targets including meetings and brief generation
  • Contribute to winning proposals
  • Establish an understanding of the organisations’ research methods and approaches
  • Liaison with research staff, bringing to their attention opportunities with new and existing clients
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of new sales / marketing initiatives
  • Ensure all business development opportunities are followed through

Person Specification

  • Experience in a business development, account or relationship management role, preferably within a market research agency or other relevant company
  • Ideally have a proven track record of supporting the selling of market research services in the consumer sector specifically, and generally can
  • demonstrate success at targeting decision maker roles within the organisations targeted for business development
  • Confident verbal communication skills
  • An enthusiasm for gaining a good understanding of research and turning that into a motivating message when pursuing opportunities
  • Excellent written communication skills
